To further strengthen its European operations in Frankfurt, the bank is seeking a highly experienced Senior Risk Manager. This is a broad and influential role for a seasoned professional who can navigate complex risk landscapes, interact with senior stakeholders and regulators, and contribute to the institution’s continued growth and success in Europe.
As Senior Risk Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the bank’s overall risk framework and ensuring sound risk governance across the European platform. This is a broad and senior-level position, requiring a generalist with in-depth expertise across multiple risk types and the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders, regulators, and global headquarters.
Identify, assess, and monitor key risk exposures across credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk areas.
Develop, implement, and enhance risk management policies, processes, and control frameworks.
Provide regular risk reports and strategic recommendations to senior management and the Board.
Ensure compliance with European and international regulatory requirements (ECB, BaFin, EBA).
Support stress testing, ICAAP/ILAAP, and capital/risk appetite frameworks.
Act as a trusted advisor to business and support functions on risk-related matters.
Drive risk culture awareness and training initiatives across the organisation.
Liaise with auditors, regulators, and global risk management colleagues.
University degree in finance, economics, law, or related discipline.
several years of experience in risk management within banking or financial services.
Broad knowledge of credit, market, operational, and regulatory risks.
Strong understanding of German banking regulation and supervisory frameworks.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with senior stakeholders and regulators.
Fluent in German and English
