As a licensed payments institution under national regulatory supervision, the organisation must comply with extensive requirements in accordance with the applicable Risk Management Minimum Requirements for Payments Institutions. The complexity within Risk Management is increasing due to evolving supervisory expectations, growing data volumes, and the dynamic nature of the payments market.
This Senior Risk Manager position plays a key role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the institution. You will support strategic risk governance, enhance internal control systems, and contribute to enterprise-wide risk steering. Your insights will directly support senior leadership through structured analysis and reporting.

Early identification, assessment, and monitoring of all material risks, including ESG-related risk impacts.
Support the implementation and further development of the regulatory Risk Management requirements for payments institutions.
Contribute to institution-wide steering by aligning risk and business strategy within an integrated risk-return management framework.
Prepare risk reports for senior management and supervisory committees.
Further develop and enhance the internal control framework.
Maintain and update the institution’s risk strategy and ensure effective execution of risk-related measures.
Maintain, update, and refine the risk inventory, including the derivation of mitigation actions.
Conduct regular and event-driven stress tests for key risk categories and derive actionable recommendations.
Several years of professional experience in Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
Strong analytical mindset and methodical working style with clear, structured communication skills.
Deep understanding of regulated financial entities and group structures.
Confident handling of regulatory texts, supervisory guidelines, and governance frameworks.
Knowledge of reporting, notifications, and regulatory requirements specific to payments institutions.
Affinity for technology, IT systems, and data environments.
Very good German and English skills.
First leadership experience is an advantage.
