This role offers the opportunity to take on a senior position within the Risk Management function of an international bank with a strong Corporate and Institutional Banking footprint. The Senior Risk Manager will be involved in the full lifecycle of credit risk assessment, from initial transaction analysis through ongoing portfolio monitoring and strategic risk steering.

You will work closely with Front Office, Credit, Finance, and senior management, acting as a key sparring partner on risk-related matters within an international banking environment. The position combines hands-on analytical work with a high level of responsibility and visibility, including exposure to complex financing structures and international client portfolios. In addition to day-to-day risk assessment, the role contributes to the continuous development of risk frameworks, internal policies, and governance standards in line with regulatory expectations and the long-term strategy of an international bank.

Your tasks

• Assess, monitor, and manage credit and counterparty risks for corporate and institutional clients

• Analyse complex financing structures (e.g. Corporate, Project, Trade or Structured Finance)

• Prepare high-quality risk assessments and credit recommendations for decision-making committees

• Contribute to the enhancement of risk frameworks, policies, and internal processes

• Collaborate closely with Front Office, Finance, Compliance, and senior management

• Support regulatory requirements and internal/external audits

Your profile

• Several years of experience in Risk Management within a bank or financial institution

• Strong expertise in Credit Risk, financial analysis, and balance sheet assessment

• Experience with complex financing structures and international client portfolios

• Solid understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g. MaRisk, KWG, CRR)

• Strong analytical skills, structured working style, and sound judgement

• German and English language proficiency
