A leading European private bank is seeking a Vice President m/f/d- Anti-Financial Crime Compliance to strengthen its Group Compliance function. This role sits at the heart of the bank’s AFC framework, supporting the protection of a sophisticated client base across private banking and wealth management.

The position offers exposure to complex financial crime topics, including AML, sanctions, transaction monitoring, and emerging risks such as digital assets.

Your tasks

• Conduct risk-based reviews of client relationships, transactions, and counterparties in line with AML, sanctions, and financial crime regulations
• Support and enhance the bank’s AFC framework, policies, and control environment across private banking activities
• Investigate and assess alerts from transaction monitoring and sanctions screening systems, ensuring timely escalation where required
• Identify, assess, and monitor financial crime risks, particularly in high-net-worth and cross-border client environments
• Contribute to the design, optimization, and implementation of monitoring and screening systems
• Support regulatory and strategic AFC projects, including system implementations and process improvements
• Act as a trusted advisor to front office, onboarding, and operations teams on financial crime-related matters
• Stay up to date with evolving regulatory expectations and typologies (e.g. AML, sanctions, fraud, crypto-related risks)

Your profile

• Degree in Finance, Law, Economics, or a related field
• Several years of experience in Anti-Financial Crime, Compliance, or Financial Crime within banking, ideally with exposure to private banking or wealth management
• Strong understanding of AML, KYC/CDD, sanctions regimes, and transaction monitoring frameworks
• Experience with AFC systems, data analytics, or process optimization is a strong advantage
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a highly regulated environment
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders across business and control functions
• Fluency in English and German
