An internationally established European private bank is currently seeking a Senior IT Auditor to join its Internal Audit team in Hamburg.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly collaborative and international environment, supporting the continuous enhancement of the bank’s IT governance, information security, and regulatory compliance framework. The role offers broad exposure across IT infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and internal control processes within a modern banking environment.

The position combines operational audit work with strategic advisory responsibilities and offers close interaction with stakeholders across the business.

Your tasks

• Independently conduct audits of IT infrastructure, application systems, and internal IT processes in line with regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Identify, assess, and evaluate potential IT and cybersecurity risks
• Prepare audit documentation and audit reports in English
• Present, discuss, and follow up on audit findings with relevant stakeholders
• Support the ongoing enhancement of IT compliance, governance, and control frameworks
• Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of regulatory requirements within the IT environment

Your profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Informatics, or a related field
• Initial professional experience within IT Audit, IT Risk, Internal Audit, or a comparable control function, ideally within banking or financial services
• Solid understanding of information security, IT governance, and regulatory frameworks such as BSI, ITIL, COBIT, MaRisk, and/or DORA
• Experience with data analysis tools and ideally knowledge of Python and/or SQL
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CRISC) would be considered advantageous
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken
• Analytical mindset combined with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
