An internationally established European private bank is seeking an experienced Senior Manager Accounting to join its Accounting team within the Risk & Finance division.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of key financial reporting and regulatory accounting activities within a highly regulated banking environment. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Risk, Regulatory Reporting, and other business functions, contributing to the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial and regulatory reporting.

The role combines operational responsibility with strategic involvement in projects, process enhancements, and system developments, offering significant exposure to core finance functions within a leading financial institution.

Your tasks

• Preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) and banking-specific accounting regulations
• Responsibility for regulatory reporting and submissions to supervisory authorities
• Independent analysis and resolution of complex accounting and financial reporting matters
• Ensuring the smooth execution of daily accounting operations, including reconciliations and balance sheet controls
• Supporting group accounting and financial closing processes
• Participation in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at improving accounting processes and systems
• Contributing to the continuous enhancement of financial controls, reporting quality, and operational efficiency

Your profile

• Commercial qualification, accounting certification (e.g., Certified Accountant) or a comparable academic background
• Several years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within banking or financial services
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and banking accounting regulations
• Experience in financial statement preparation and regulatory reporting
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting systems and strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of SQL, Business Intelligence tools, or data analytics solutions would be advantageous
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a structured working approach
• Fluent German and very good English communication skills
