For one of our international clients in the financial services sector, we are currently seeking an experienced Deputy MLRO (m/f/d).

This position offers the opportunity to take on a key role within the Anti-Financial Crime function, supporting the continuous development and effective operation of the firm's AML, sanctions and fraud prevention framework. The successful candidate will act as a senior subject matter expert and trusted advisor to business stakeholders and senior management while contributing to the overall governance and regulatory integrity of the organisation.

Your tasks

• Support the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Compliance leadership in the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Anti-Financial Crime framework.
• Oversee Anti-Financial Crime activities across AML/CTF, sanctions compliance, fraud prevention and related risk areas.
• Act as an escalation point for complex and high-risk financial crime matters, including AML investigations and sanctions-related cases.
• Review and approve case assessments, analyses and recommendations prepared by operational teams.
• Coordinate enterprise-wide financial crime risk assessments covering products, customers, jurisdictions and business activities.
• Provide expert advice to business units and senior management on financial crime risks, onboarding decisions and mitigation strategies.
• Support regulatory examinations, audits and supervisory interactions by preparing documentation and coordinating responses.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies, procedures and internal control frameworks in line with regulatory expectations.
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the existing Anti-Financial Crime framework.
• Support internal training initiatives and promote financial crime awareness across the organisation.
• Drive process improvements, quality assurance initiatives and control enhancements.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to a strong compliance culture.

Your profile

• University degree in Law, Business Law, Economics, Finance, Compliance or a related discipline.
• Several years of professional experience in Anti-Financial Crime, Anti-Money Laundering or Compliance within a regulated financial institution.
• Solid knowledge of AML/CTF regulations, sanctions compliance, fraud prevention and financial crime risk management.
• Strong analytical and investigative capabilities with excellent documentation standards.
• Confident communicator with experience advising senior stakeholders.
• Structured, pragmatic and risk-based approach to problem solving.
• High level of integrity, professional judgement and independent decision-making skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively across functions.
• Previous experience leading projects, coordinating teams or managing workstreams is considered an advantage.
