Our client is a leading financial institution with a global presence and a reputation for excellence in banking services. They offer a wide range of financial products and services to corporate and institutional clients. As part of their continuous effort, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Counsel (m/f/d) for their Corporate Law Team on Associate Director Level.

Your tasks

• Legal advice, including on the drafting and negotiation of contracts, the implementation of legal requirements (e.g. also in the context of projects) and, if necessary, the defence/enforcement of rights, in particular for specialist departments like Wealth & Asset Management, Equities, Financial Markets and Transaction Services
• Draft, review, and negotiate various types of legal documentation related to corporate banking transactions.
• Ensure compliance with European banking regulations and internal policies.
• Advise on regulatory changes and their impact on the bank’s operations.
• Manage and coordinate with external legal counsel as needed.
• Support the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
• Conduct legal research and provide training on legal issues to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other departments within the bank to ensure seamless legal support for business initiatives.

Your profile

• Qualified lawyer with a law degree
• Several years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a bank or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of corporate banking law and European financial regulations.
• Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in English and German language
